Climbing up
Today uphill day …. arrived at an altitude of 5,600 meters with icy wind at over 70kmh … other than the 70kmh descent speed of yesterday by bicycle!! … in any case our highest point touched in life … and in our case we also think it will stay that way!

Salita al Cerro Toco, in auto fino a 5200 con l’agenzia turismo Mitampi, siamo stati i primi ad arrivare in cima ed anche a scendere! Bellissimo panorama di Laguna Verde dall’alto, ma molto vento.

This morning after clearing Bolivian and Chilean customs and immigration we went all the way down to San Pedro the Atacama. We met other long trip bicycle nomads and we did the descent with two New Zealanders cyclists, Thomas and Julie. We met them in Laguna Verde, they left in October for a one year bike trip around Latin America. What a goal!
With them pushing us to the limit, we reached top speeds up to 65 – 70 kmph 😬 with a 2000m altitude descent all straight to the peculiar village of San Pedro, full of strangers and western style shops.

Ieri giorno incredibile in cui abbiamo visitato i geyseres Sol de Mañana, termas de Polques ricominciato a pedalare nel Deserto Salvador Dalí, con una rinfrescante salita a 4700 metri di altezza e siamo arrivati a Laguna Verde dove abbiamo incontrato altri 4 ciclisti giramondo!

Ora arrivati a San Pedro de Atacama, abbiamo di nuovo connessione ma dobbiamo andare a pranzo! Non scriveteci via whatsapp

Hechas polvo

En español ibérico estar hecho polvo quiere decir estar destrozados, deprimidos.

Así están nuestras bicis después del recorrido todo por rutas de tierra entre las lagunas, hechas polvo… Y además el polvo es marrón. Como nuestro blog! 
Mañana por eso tendremos un marrón… (esto los italianos no lo van a entender je je)

Domani non pedaliamo, una 4×4 di Huracan Travel ci porterà nella zona delle lagune, troppo difficile da fare in bici in poco tempo, si sale fino a 4900m. Poi, dopo laguna Verde y Blanca, ricominceremo a pedalare entrando in Chile, fino a San Pedro de Atacama. Non ci sarà  connessione cellulare, mandiamo magari qualche punto col telefono satellitare che abbiamo portato da casa, noleggiato più che altro per far stare tranquilli parenti e amici! Quindi nel frattempo godetevi virtualmente alcuni dei posti che vedremo:

Laguna Colorada
Termas de Polques
Laguna Verde
